Shaping the essence. Color, word, and the space in between.

Artistic sessions and labs beyond the logic of functioning.

The Essence of the Salon.

Salon der Kuenste is an art school for adults – minus the institutional noise. A place for those seeking to explore their own path alongside fellow accomplices.

Focused, instinctive, and playful – radically unpretentious.

Paths & Formats

Paths & Formats The Salon offers various paths—depending on the time and depth you are ready to claim for yourself. We work through color, language, and perception.

Not to move faster, but to see clearer, decide with confidence, and develop a line of your own.

Mentorship & Community

In the Salon, you work alongside masters who guide from their own practice—within a setting that is rarely accessible elsewhere. In these small circles, a distinct intensity emerges: through the work itself, conversations at the table, walks in nature, museum visits, and genuine encounters.

Current Programs & Courses

Perceive. Venture. Prevail.

The next doors are opening: current programs and courses at the Salon.

Application & Joining

The intentional frame.

To ensure a session becomes more than just a singular moment, we work in curated groups. Admission is by application or through the recommendation of a master.

The October Session. A Lab for the Unplanned.
Lab · 5 Days · 9 People

Five days with Inge H. Schmidt at the edge of intent and chance. Unlearning over mastery. An experiment in color and material with an open outcome. We are currently shaping the framework.

Step 1: Apply

Start the process by clicking the "Apply" button on the course page. In a brief questionnaire (approx. 5 minutes), tell us where you currently stand, what moves you—and what you wish to dedicate this time to.

1

Step 2: Personal Response

We read every application with care and will get back to you personally. It’s not about skill or technique—it’s about how the group fits together and ensuring the circle is balanced and cohesive.

2

Step 3: Space or Waiting List

If a spot is available, you will receive your confirmation. If the session is full, we’ll discuss the waiting list with you and keep you personally in the loop.

3

Step 4: Securing Your Spot

To confirm your place, a 30% deposit is due upon receipt of your confirmation. The remaining balance is required no later than 60 days before the start. One month before we begin, you will receive an email with everything you need to know.

4

The application is not an exam.

It is the beginning of a shared journey—for those who wish to deliberately commit to this way of working.

Beyond the result

We aren’t interested in quick wins. We care about processes that take the time to find their own form.

See before you decide

Before we shape, we observe. With time. With material. With presence. Not just with thoughts.

Small groups. No stage.

Only people working—together, alongside, serious and effortless at the same time.

Art as navigation

Creative practice is not an end in itself. It’s a way to orient yourself in your own life—raw, real, unpretentious.

Philosophy & Practice

How we work

Not faster, but deeper. So that something original can emerge again.

Newsletter

For those who’d rather know what is unfolding—than hear of it later.

Time for one’s own

"I returned home with a new sense of clarity and calm—and the courage to let the unfinished be, without the urge to solve it immediately. Since then, the way I work has shifted: slower, more precise—and closer to what is truly mine."

Patrick K., Participant

A space where evolution takes hold

"Inge H. Schmidt is both artist and mentor: she possesses the gift of both clarity and inspiration, knowing firsthand the friction of the creative process. To create with Inge is to reach far beyond mere technique. She has the ability to unlock deeper layers of potential in those who learn from her. This is what makes her an exceptional guide."

Fabian N., Participant

Watching the work evolve

"I experienced Inge providing exactly the right guidance and opening up spaces with such empathy and intuition—tools I could truly work with. From one canvas to the next, I watched my painting transform—and before long, I simply couldn’t get enough of it."

Sabine K., Participant

The painting is finished

"Suddenly, Inge is standing beside me, examining my work with a very keen eye: 'Let’s see... aha... yes...' Then, completely unexpected, she says: 'The painting is finished. Leave it as it is!' It turned my own high expectations upside down and shifted my entire perspective—especially on color. That key moment with Inge left me completely re-energized."
